She loooks like an Angel

She loooks like an Angel

This beautiful 100% linen dress was donated during the Christmas break and is EXACTLY the kind of donation we love. Brand new, with tags still attached! The kind of item that made Angel’s eye’s light up before she’d even tried it on.

We think she looks great!

A huge thank you to the generous donor who gifted us this dress and the many individuals who continue to donate excellent quality, pre loved clothing that our clients feel confident and fabulous in!

It’s been a pleasure hosting some of our newest Dress Circle members in the Boutique these past couple of weeks for a tour and for them to hear directly what their donation provides to the women who access our programs.

“It’s the feeling special and happy in your clothes”

“It’s not about the monetary value or having clothes and things, it’s the feeling special and happy in your clothes – it’s just so empowering. How you walk is a completely different dance.”

We think Merilyn has summed it up perfectly!

It’s not about the clothes, it’s about how they make you feel and the process of having a service delivered by our caring and compassionate volunteers.

Merilyn has since landed a role and has been promoting us to others in her community – the best recommendation you can get!

Ps. How fabulous are those pants?!

If Everyone Did – International Volunteer Day

Today is International Volunteer Day, a day for us to celebrate and thank our volunteers and shine a light on the important role they play at Dress for Success Tasmania.

This year’s theme is “If Everyone Did” which recognises the power of collective action and that if everyone volunteered, the world would be a better place.

We are deeply grateful to our passionate and committed team of volunteers. We thank each of them for their contribution and for all they do to support Tasmanian women.

Glenorchy Outreach Styling

Last week, Bec and Stella loaded a car full of beautiful pieces from our Boutique and headed to the Glenorchy Library to support a number of women in our pop up Boutique.

Each client took away a full outfit, to fill them with confidence and hope as they step forward into an upcoming interview.

If your community would benefit from Dress for Success visiting and setting up a pop-up Boutique reach out now – we’d love to come and visit you in 2024.

Jordan River Service – Boutique Visit

There really isn’t much else to say, these words from our clients truly say it all ♥️

“It was amazing, I could cry”

“I feel like I am glowing”

“I feel lifted up and cannot get the smile off my face”

“I feel different”

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming these four ladies in to the Boutique for a special styling session as part of their participation in the Women’s Leadership Loop program run by Jordan River Service Inc.

The Loop program was established to help the local women living in Bridgewater, Gagebrook and the surrounding areas to learn new skills, qualifications & experience and ultimately join or re join the workforce.

Many of the women participating in the program have been out of work for a long time and this is just one step towards making a change for the future.

The women weren’t necessarily visiting for interview or employment styling but were there for an intro to our service and to be made to feel special and valued for the time they spent with our volunteers.

Special shout out to Boutique Coordinator Clare and our volunteers Pene, Fiona and Linda.

Rebecca White MP – Boutique Visit

Rebecca White MP – Boutique Visit

Last week Stella and Amanda warmly welcomed Opposition Leader Rebecca White MP into the Boutique for a tour 👗

We shared stories of the impact our programs have had on the hundreds of Tasmanian women we’ve supported over the past four years.

We highlighted the uniqueness of our programs and the crucial roles# our volunteers play in providing support and building trust with our clients.

As we’ve said before, what we do at Dress for Success is simple – but it’s effective.

Clothing, connections and confidence – and it can truly make all the difference.

Aurora Energy – Changing Lives

We’re so grateful for the support of our Changing Rooms, Changing Lives Change Room Sponsor Aurora Energy.

They’ve supported us since day 1 and we’re thrilled they continue to trust us to deliver our transformational programs to hundreds of women in Tasmania every year!

Be Hers Boutique Visit

We had our second group of women from the Be Hers Employment Program come through the Boutique on Friday.

Our volunteers and team have loved working with the groups of women, tailoring our offering to ensure it needs their cultural needs and requirements.

We’ve loved working with the team from BeHers and look forward to working collaboratively with them in the future.

When women support each other, amazing things happen ♥️
