Where can I donate clothes?

Please note, we do not accept clothing donations via our office or boutique.

To ensure that donating clothes is convenient and accessible for everyone, we have a community partnership with RACT who accept clothing donations on our behalf.

Clothing donations can be dropped off at the following RACT locations:

RACT Hobart – 179-191 Murray Street, Hobart.

RACT Glenorchy – Cnr Main Road and Terry Street, Glenorchy.

RACT Kingston – Shop 60 Channel Court, Kingston.

RACT Rosny – 2 Bayfield Street, Rosny Park.

Do you collect clothing?

No.  We are a small team and do not have the resources to collect donations.

What type of clothes do you accept?

It is important that our clients feel confident and uplifted by the clothes our volunteers style them in. This is why, Dress for Success only accepts ‘lightly’ worn clothes that you would be comfortable giving to your best friend to wear to an interview.

How do I register to become a volunteer?

Expressions of interest to become a volunteer are open all year round. First step is to book into an online information session where you can learn more about the organisation and our programs, along with volunteer roles and ask questions.

I work during the day - can I still volunteer?


Dress for Success holds events during the year that require assistance from volunteers outside of standard business hours. From time-to-time, we also require volunteers to assist with online career support outside of hours.

Dress for Success is growing and expanding, with enough volunteer support, we may look to offer some services outside of standard business hours, in the future.

How do I make a donation to Dress for Success?

Financial donations ensure that our programs remain free to all women who need them. Anyone can make a financial donation at any time. This link will take you to our donation page.

Does Dress for Success hold fundraising events?

Dress for Success holds several fundraising events throughout the year. Our fundraising activities are vital in ensuring the continuation of our services and that our services remain free to the women who need them.

Bubbles & Bargains – this is a clothing sale of high-quality clothing, new and lightly worn that has been donated to the boutique however, it is more casual or occasion wear than work wear. This fundraising event is where you can find designer clothes at a fraction of the cost, all the while knowing your money goes directly back into Dress for Success programs.

Fashion Frenzy – this is a clothing sale at bargain basement prices. Again, it is a collection of lightly worn, donated clothing that we have not been able to use when styling our clients.

Both Bubbles and Bargains and Fashion Frenzy are held twice per calendar year and are advertised through our social media channels. To follow us on social media, go here.

Dress Circle – This is our premier fundraising event where people are invited to become Dress Circle donors through a financial donation of $1000, paid in a lump sum or in equal instalments throughout the year. How do I make an appointment?

To make an appointment for one of our services, please use to this link 

You will be asked to fill in your details, book in your preferred time for an appointment and our Client Coordinator will contact you to provide you with further information on what to expect.
